“Is this really the best use of my time?”

Like most days, Seth Godin has some interesting observations on his blog. Today one is on time and priorities. Of course it reminds me of the old Steven Covey priorities quadrant. It’s still very valuable to me, I tend to have ideas or think of “action items” at all hours of the day and night. I have to keep my focus on my priorities and take some notes on my thoughts, saving them for the right time.

For years I’ve had a similar quadrant image printed and taped to the wall near my computer monitor at work. I check my daily activities against it once in a while and re-adjust them based on where they are in the quadrant. Of course every once in a while I find myself working on something that seems interesting at the time, but really doesn’t add big value in the long term… And I know I’m not the only one! 8-)

Print this out and see if it helps you keep on focus, and share it with a friend! (not that you are trying to tell them something…8-)
