Nearly 100 Major Social Networking Sites!

In doing some research for a client, I came across this great listing of nearly 100 social networking sites. It doesn’t mention a few majors that I know of, nor does it mention the many smaller niche sites, but it’s a good jumping off point if you are researching some.

I made notes to check out some of these sites:

After exploring new some new toolsets like Yahoo Pipes, and Google Apps, I began to think about exploring the idea of building a business site that does some of the things Mugshot.org talks about here… a custom portal of my private content. As I have more and more content and functionality online, a central hub for all my private data could be a real timesaver. A “personal dashboard” for all my stuff.
I’ll have to think some more about how that idea may work… 8-) (Don’t steal my idea, please! Or just call me and we can build it together!)
