The Conversation Economy

Andrew Davies has a great image on his blog, inspired by a talk by DJ Spooky.

It compares the old linear, controlled dialog from companies, through marketers to people… one way. To the new version, a nice closed loop of information, with social media and consumers becoming a part of the dialogs, as well as product direction. The Conversation Economy - Andrew Davies

Of course the communication is out there for many companies, though I think many still ignore it to their detriment. See my recent post on the MS Outlook product marketing manager saying that people used the software “wrong.” Nice. Guess that loop hasn’t quite made it back around yet.
